Congratulations to Valerie LeVier!
This year's winner, for an unprecedented second year in a row, is Valerie LeVier of The Villager Newspaper
The events we produce each year become the face of the Chamber - often to the general public, these are the only way they have to measure what the Chamber is. The two main events are GooseChase and Taste of Greenwood Village. In 2008, more than 2000 people were our guests for those events. So we really are in the spotlight with our neighbors.
To our members who we strive to retain and those new prospective members also see a face that is the Chamber. That face is represented by our ambassadors - without whom our staff of 1 full time and two part-time employees could not accomplish our annual membership objectives. It truly takes a round peg in a round hole to make that work.
Another group that is vital to our success is the all-volunteer Board of Directors - providing guidance and governance to an end which is a vibrant and growing organization.
All of that is done through committed and dedicated service of member volunteers. This year's Ingrid Fry Award winner is one of those pegs - as a matter of fact she fills several of those pegs - often at the same time.
Much of the commentary about Valerie involves phrases like - always smiling, upbeat, endless energy. In counting the hours that she contributed to the cause that is the Chamber of Commerce, the numbers are staggering but not really surprising - they number into the hundreds. This is also a testimonial to the level of Valerie's employer The Villager Newspaper's commitment in our community. Underlying this award is deep gratitude for accommodating this mission.
We extend our heart felt congratulations for a well-deserved award.
A special thanks to Greenwood Village Mayor Nancy Sharpe who joined us for this year's awards event!
